For those of you who do have generators, heavy snowfalls and high winds can cause snow drifting on and around your generator! This snow can block the air intake portion of your system, and limit it's functionality.

To ensure your generator will operate properly in the event of a power outage, you must it from time to time during the snow storm and ensure that snow and ice have not blocked the air intake side of it.

If snow and ice have accumulated on or around your generator you will need to remove any buildup that occurs on the air intake side (the right side with the green light). Excessive snow buildup that blocks the air intake may prevent the generator from cooling properly, which can cause it to shut down.

Stay safe and warm, and drink lots of hot coco!
